Members of Holey Soles Hill Walking Club

The Holey Soles Hill Walking Club (don't you just love our name!) was set up in 1985 by Manorhamilton local Jim McMorrow and a few of his friends who loved the Leitrim hills. The club has been central to the success of the North Leitrim Glens Hill Walking Festival which celebrates its 28th anniversary in 2021. Being a very small club, we are reliant on the support of other clubs, individuals and mountain rescue teams for the annual Hill Walking Festival and Charity Hill Walk and Ramble.

The stunning scenery in Leitrim and surrounding counties make it an ideal location for dedicated hill walkers and ramblers and those who come to the festival get smitten by the Leitrim bug and come back time and time again. Lovely Laid Back Leitrim grabs a lot of hearts!

Our iconic Seven Glens and typical U shaped valleys lead to the most stunning scenery, dramatic cliffs rich in fossils, mystical valleys often enveloped in fog and the most beautiful lake views in Ireland's Hidden Heartlands.

At the heart of our events is good old fashioned hospitality. Leitrim, with low population density and small tourist traffic gives visitors a genuine experience and the pristine landscape leads to wonderful wild walking and fantastic local food. And yes, we do have 5 Km of coastline at Tullaghan!

Safety is tantamount in planning our events so please read the section on; GUIDELINES

We are forever grateful to the landowners who give us access to the hills for our walks and events and to our sponsors; Leitrim County Council, Trailblazers and Call of the Wild

Come on, isnt it time you fell in love with Leitrim?
