🏔️ Long Walk: Tievebaun
Loop out to Truskmore
Distance: 10km | Height Gain: 647m | Duration:
6 hours
Very challenging; suitable
only for very fit, experienced hillwalkers
Transport: Bus from
Aghanlish Community Centre to Eagle’s Rock car park (start/end point)
Route
overview:

1km level walk on bog road to base of Tievebaun (Whiteside)
·
Very steep 500m climb on narrow trail to Tievebaun shoulder
·
2km southeast walk to Truskmore TV mast (647m)
·
Return to Tievebaun shoulder after lunch
·
2km north to summit of Tievebaun (611m)
·
Return via Tievebaun shoulder and same route to car park
·
Views of Glenade Valley, Hags Leap, Glenade Lake, Donegal Bay, Bluestack Mountains
💡 Steep ascents and descents. Leaders
may adjust the route based on conditions.

Rock Carpark to Tievebaun Loop.
Distance: 6.6km | Height Gain: 611m | Duration:
4-5 hours
Reasonably good level of hillwalking fitness needed.
Transport: Bus from Aghanlish Community
Centre to Eagle’s Rock car park (start/end point)

Mountain
Distance: 6km | Height Gain: 270m | Duration:
4 hours
Gentle but rewarding hike, suitable for most fitness levels.
Route overview:
Starting at Aghanlish Community Centre, this is a very relaxing easy
scenic walk to the foothills of Largydonnell Mountain and back by same route.
There is a gentle ascent to the highest point which is 270 metres. Our walkers
will have wonderful views of Donegal Bay and Glenade Valley.
💡 A relaxed pace with plenty of time
to enjoy the surroundings.
